![]() ![]() Looking forward to hearing from all of you, any suggestions and opinions are welcome. I have also taken a look at some of the other backpacks produced by Mystery Ranch, Osprey, Tom Bihn etc. I'll be continuing education onwards into college after this so I'll probably need this as a school bag for laptop, books and papers etc. Also I'm currently serving in the field of civil defence (due to conscription) hence the tactical aspects of the GR1 bag seems like a good fit. I have also been able to find a limited edition GR1 that comes in midnight navy with red MOLLE (I really like the colours as opposed to the all black you'd get in the AER TP2) and overall it seems that GORUCK's products are of solid quality and material. On the other hand, the GR1 26L capacity seems just right for an EDC however it lacks the compartmentalization that the AER TP2 has. I do quite a bit of travelling but not the backpacking kind hence I'm really looking for more of an EDC than a travel backpack. I'm 6'4 so I am able to carry larger bags without it looking overbearing on me but 33L seems a little too large for an EDC. however I do have concerns regarding the size of the bag itself, which, from videos, appears to be rather bulky. I appreciate the fact that the AER Travel Pack 2 is very well thought out with features eg a compartment for shoes, quick access pockets etc. ![]() I have been able to find good prices for both of these bags (new ones) online with the GR1 coming at US$295 and the AER Travel Pack 2 coming at US$190. I've been looking to buy an EDC backpack and at the moment the GORUCK GR1 26L and AER Travel Pack 2 33L have caught my eye. ![]()
